I will be performing with The Decisive Instant on Thursday, May 22 at the Grand Star Jazz Club in Downtown Los Angeles. This large ensemble will be performing the works of Sun Ra in celebration of his 100th birthday.
In honor of the 100th anniversary of Sun Ra’s arrival on Earth, the Decisive Instant creative orchestra presents his music in new arrangements by David Martinelli, Jeff Schwartz, and Charles Sharp.

Native Plant Society (Grasse and Vogel with Tony Green on bass and Breeze Smith on percussion) will open with an improvised set.
The performance is in the Martin Laser Recital Hall at CSUDH. Tickets are $2 at the door. Campus parking is $6.

Decisive Instant, a large creative music ensemble that includes veterans of the L.A. improvisation music scene, will be performing the music of Sun Ra in celebration of his 100th birthday.
