DESERT SOUNDS…From my set of solo mbira and percussion music at the Wonder Valley Experimental 7 on Saturday, April 11, 2015 (Wonder Valley, CA).
Author: Jonathan Saxon
I will be performing a solo set with electric mbira, percussion, and loops at the Wonder Valley Experimental Music Festival on April 11, 2015 at 6:20pm. This desert festival is about 30 minutes from Joshua Tree, CA.
Recorded in Joshua Tree on Trevor Green’s excellent new album. In the top photo I’m on the far right. The incredibly talented drummer Danny Frankel is setting up his kit on the left. Trevor Green is in the foreground with the didgeridoo. The great Robbi Robb is producing the record.

…Once in a Lifetime
June 23 – 27, 2014. University of Washington (Seattle, WA).
Thank you to all the people at the University of Washington and Smithsonian Folkways Recordings for facilitating, and Antelope Valley College for financing, the experience of a lifetime. I am truly grateful for the depth of knowledge and great communal spirit that was shared throughout the entire week of master classes. Ichigo ni ichido…once in a lifetime…
